Over the last two weeks of June and into early July, Alexei and Hollman were fortunate enough to be accepted to attend a Tennis Australia Coach Study Tour to Europe. Along with 8 other coaches from Australia and two Tennis Australia Coach Education Leaders, they visited 4 countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and the UK). Over the 2 weeks they spent time with the Dutch Federation, Belgium Federation, visited the largest indoor Tennis Complex in Europe (HVS Tennis Helsinki, Finland), spent time at the LTA Headquarters in Roehamptom, visited various clubs and facilities in all four countries and the tour concluded with a day at Wimbledon Qualies, a pre-Wimbledon International Coaches Conference headlined by Judy Murray and 2 days at Wimbledon. The tour gave Alexei and Hollman a chance to learn from many world-renowned coaches and discover what methodologies and practices are being used in Europe, as well as visit many high-achieving Tennis Clubs and facilities to learn what makes them so successful and bring as many of their practices and processes back into our environment. The networking and learning opportunities made from our time with our fellow Australian coaches will also be invaluable.
